Lawn Mower Parts
Poulan Lawn MowersPoulan lawn mowers are generally for people who don't have the need for a large riding mower or tractor. They also make a useful addition to a tractor, however, in that they're better for cutting small areas around bushes and trees. Whether you're buying Poulan lawn mowers for home use or professional landscaping use, there's a model out there that will meet your needs. Varieties of Poulan Lawn MowersPoulan lawn mowers come in three major varieties. The first type is the side discharge mower, which cuts grass and sends the clippings out through a shoot on one side of the machine. Side discharge mowers have the most traditional lawn mower design, and they have to be pushed by hand while you're mowing the lawn. The next variety of Poulan mowers is the rear discharge mower. Rear discharge mowers are basically the same as side discharge mowers, with one exception. Rather than shooting grass clippings back out onto your lawn, they collect the clippings in a bag at the rear of the machine. This bag can then be dumped out into a mulch pile for disposal. Rear discharge mowers are useful if you want to avoid choking your grass with piles of clippings. Poulan also offers a range of self-propelled mowers, which eliminate the need for pushing the mower while you're cutting the grass. Self-propelled mowers use their engine both for cutting and for driving forward. All you have to do is disengage the clutch mounted on the handle, and the mower does the rest! ![]() Get all Landscaping articles via
