Psychic Warrior

The term "Psychic Warrior" can be examined in a number of ways. Several authors and teachers have used the term or one like it such as "Spiritual Warrior" or "Peaceful Warrior" to intrigue potential readers about this possible union of opposite-seeming ideas. Psychic or spiritual people would seem to be peaceful and contemplative by nature. How could such a person be a warrior?

Psychic Warriors, Spiritual Warriors and Others You Meet Along the Way

A warrior, by definition is someone who engages conflict. The common definition in our times would be a soldier or someone serving in the armed forces or other martial traditions. Mars, is the god of war, but he is also a god of agriculture. This is a good metaphor for a deeper kind of engagement with what it means to be a warrior, because it also relates to the idea of making a sacrifice in order to preserve what is good. Many would argue that this is at the heart of a higher definition of what it means to be a warrior.

A psychic warrior may also be someone who has served in the United States Government remote viewing training program. This was a scientifically developed method of psychic spying that allowed the government to gather information without the viewer leaving the room. It was code-named Star Gate and a number of current civilian remote viewing teachers were once military participants in the program. It is related to and probably derived from the natural psychic skills of clairvoyance, telekinesis and astral projection. Remote viewing is repeatable under double-blind conditions and the techniques can be taught to almost anyone with some degree of success--which is the result of the scientific methodology employed in its development.

Since the development of psychic abilities has a high probability of opening up the spirit of an individual, it is no surprise that remote viewing techniques have led to more spiritual pursuits. Once the material was declassified many other uses for the techniques have been found. This is quite common, as the personal computer can attest. However, once remote viewers began pointing their attention towards the human body, to heal the sick, or towards the mystical, to experience the presence of the divine, the techniques became truly useful tools for the spiritual or psychic warrior--the one who wishes to use his or her strength to preserve what is good in life.
