Ukrainian Brides

Ukrainian brides are, according to many foreign marriage services, exactly what most American men are looking for. How anyone knows what most American men are looking for in a wife is questionable. However, thousands have brought Ukrainian brides over to the States, so perhaps the services' claims have some truth to them.

Ukrainian marriage services generally direct their ad campaigns towards American men who are, for one reason or another, fed up with American women. When discussing potential Ukrainian brides, a service will almost always describe ways in which they are different from their American counterparts. For instance, a description might read, "unlike American women, Ukrainian women will not try to compete with their husbands."

Bringing Ukrainian Brides to the United States

Once an American has had substantial contact with a Ukrainian woman, the marriage service can set him up with a trip to the Ukraine. If the two decide that they want to marry, or at least spend an extended period of time together in the same country, several things will have to take place before anything can happen. The marriage service should work with the woman to get everything in order on her end, while the American flies home and takes care of all of his duties.

The Ukrainian bride-to-be will have to take a blood test, a physical, undergo a background check, and be prepped for a meeting at the U.S. Embassy. She will also have to file paperwork for a change of status and to obtain a work visa. On the other side of the pond, the future groom will work with the INS and take care of any costs that are involved in the visa process.
