Miami Heat TicketsMiami Heat tickets have sold like hotcakes ever since the big announcement that Shaquille O'Neal was coming to town. The arrival of the ex-Los Angeles Lakers center has given the city of Miami renewed hope of winning not only the Eastern Conference's new Southeast Division, but the Eastern Conference Championship as well. There are some fans who even believe that Shaq's arrival heralds an NBA title. While Shaq's presence is great news for the team and for TV-watching fans, it's less promising for ticket-hunters. Seat prices at American Airlines Arena have shot up, at least on the "secondary" market, which includes brokers, scalpers, and other resellers. Those who are fortunate enough to find fairly priced tickets at the Heat box office often find that there are slim pickings for the general public. The Demand for Miami Heat TicketsAlso fueling the demand for Heat tickets is the rise of superstar guard Dwayne Wade, now a seasoned player, out of Marquette. In his rookie debut, Wade finished third on the Heat with 16.2 points per game as well as third in the league in Rookie of the Year voting. Had it not been for the emergence of LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony that same year, it's safe to assume that Wade would've carried off ROY honors in 2004. The citywide push for Heat tickets has to do with more than just the Wade-O'Neal connection, though. For the first time in many years, the team seems to have the necessary chemistry of which so many NBA coaches speak, especially during their championship seasons. So long as that holds true, the chance exists for a strong postseason run, which will only fuel the ticket market even more. ![]() Get all Tickets articles via
