Moped Motor Scooters
Yamaha Motor ScootersYamaha motor scooters faced some of the same problems in their native Japan many early scooter manufacturers did. The major problem was that the scooter market was already dominated by other big players like Mitsubishi. As a result, Yamaha motor scooters were taken off the Japanese market in the 1960s, around the same time Honda pulled the plug on its scooter production. The Return of Yamaha Motor ScootersLuckily for scooter enthusiasts, Yamaha was down, but not out in the scooter market. Twenty years later, during the 1980s, Yamaha came roaring back. Rather than designing and manufacturing completely new models, Yamaha instead produced new versions of their original models and met with tremendous success. Today, you can find Yamaha motor scooters in just about every country. For people who like a rugged, more motorcycle inspired design, the Yamaha Zuma is one of the best scooters around. This scooter is fast and powerful. It's also remarkably easy to operate. It has a fully automatic transmission and incorporates the convenience of electric starting. The Zuma also comes with larger than normal tires, making it equally at home off road as in the city. My personal favorite Yamaha scooter is the ultra cool and sophisticated Vino. The Vino comes in two types. The Vino Classic is a retro inspired scooter that always draws attention. I think its best feature is the chrome detailed front end. The other type is the Vino 125. The 125, with a 124cc engine has a really powerful engine for a scooter and still gets terrific gas mileage. ![]() Get all Motorcycles articles via
