Charlie’s Angels Full Throttle DVDNobody's going to watch Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle for a clever plot, deep characterizations, or insight into the human soul. If, however, you're in the mood for a noisy, raucous, high-energy romp chock full of music and notably lacking in logic, this will give you an evening's entertainment. Gorgeous women in sexy outfits don't hurt, either. The Quest for the RingNatalie (Cameron Diaz), Dylan (Drew Barrymore) and Alex (Lucy Liu) are sent to retrieve a missing decoder ring. When paired with its mate, it provides access to the entire database for the witness protection program. It turns up in the possession of renegade former Angel Madison Lee (a scarily buff Demi Moore.) Oh, and Dylan herself is in the witness protection program, since she turned in her Irish mob leader boyfriend, who is out for revenge. That's the plot, but that's not what the movie is about. It's about tight butts and flashy cars, loud explosions and slo-mo displays of what Joe Bob Briggs calls "bimbo fu." Director McG has pieced it together with constant references to other movies and ubiquitous cameos from the likes of Bruce Willis and the Olsen twins. The DVD offers extensive extras, including features on the cars, the clothes, the kung fu, and the makeup. There's a trivia track, a music video, a "cameo-ography," and a jukebox, as well as standard commentaries from the director and writers. Outtakes show that the girls had a whole lot of fun making it, and if you know what you want, you can have a lot of fun watching. ![]() Get all Movies articles via
