Lighting Fixtures
Energy Efficient LightingOne would think that the amount of energy going into a light fixture would always come out as light. The sad truth of the matter is that a lot of the energy going into a light fixture goes to waste. The fixture's decomposition, heat, and even vibration all use up a lot of energy. It is important for lighting fixtures to be energy efficient, which means they use less energy, but provide a room with more light. The larger your premises, the more important this will be to you. Energy Efficient Lighting MattersRegular light bulbs tend to waste a lot of energy and money. Though it's true that they are initially cheap to buy, this initial economy is negated by the steep running costs. They need a lot of energy to operate because they give out so much heat. Some light fittings give out so much heat that they can even drive the cost of air conditioning higher. Compact fluorescent lights are an energy friendly choice. In fact, they use 70 percent less energy than regular light bulbs. They also do not generate so much heat so they will not push up your air conditioning bill. There are many other ways to save energy and keep your lighting bill low. You can start by installing automatic sensors so that lights will work only when needed and turn off after a minute or so. If for any reason you need a light to stay on all night long, install a low wattage light. Light sensors are a good idea here as well because they simply turn off when sunlight kicks in. Another very simple yet totally effective way to save energy would be to turn off lights you are not using. ![]() Get all Home Lighting articles via
