LED Aquarium LightingWritten by Dina Kayed It would be nice if we could see into the future. What is possible now seemed impossible just a very short time ago. Light emitting diodes, or LEDs, are the light source of the future. Whereas a short while ago they didn't exist, you can now find them anywhere you go. Chances are that in future, when you replace a bulb, you'll be using LEDs. They're already being used in traffic lights, and even in cars. About LED Aquarium LightingLEDs are super long lasting. Amazingly, they can last for up to 11 years of non-stop use. They are great for your air conditioning bill too, because they almost produce no heat at all. LEDs are very energy efficient; they need very little electricity to operate. LEDs are perfect for your aquarium because they come in two forms: blue chip LEDs and white chip LEDs--just the kinds of light an aquarium needs. The primary cost of light emitting diodes can be a little high, mainly because the technology is still new, and any technology tends to be expensive in the beginning. The price of one candela blue or white LED can differ depending of its light capacity and beam spread. The combination of blue and white LEDs can work wonders for coral in aquariums. The brightness of LED lighting depends on the quality of the chip inside them. The better quality you buy, the better off your aquarium will be. LED energy feeds the coral reef and fish in your aquarium. LEDs will not cause your aquarium to overheat, and as a result, harm the inhabitants. LEDs offer precise lighting conditions to enhance your fish and coral's natural environment. An ideal environment will result in a healthy aquarium and maybe even fish that multiply.
