Badge Software

Written by Serena Berger

No one in your company should have to receive special training to operate the software used to make ID badges. While it may not seem like a big deal to spend a little bit of time and money training employees, in the long term, you can run into problems when the trained employees are out sick or give notice. There's no reason to spend even a moderate amount of time and money on software training when you can get badge software which is easy to use without training.

Intuitive and Easy-to-use Badge Software

Good badge software will be intuitive and visual. If they can use Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop and MS Word, your employees should be able to get into your badge software and operate it with little additional help. You should be able to type text or click and drag graphics and see the visual layout of the badge on the screen, exactly as it will look when you print it.

You may want to take advantage of the pre-designed templates that are offered in the software. Some standard types of badges are available in the program. These are helpful if your business only requires basic information on the IDs.

You can also use a merge function to import data from a database or spreadsheet. It will be automatically plugged into the template of your choosing, and you can print out badges for all of your employees at once. When you add someone or want to make a temporary badge, it's as easy as typing a few characters.
