Lawn Mower Companies

Since the lawn mower was invented by Edwin Beard Budding in 1830, there have been a number of companies competing to produce the best lawn mower. While there were once many lawn mower companies, they have gradually been going out of business and merging over the last fifty years. There are relatively few companies now, and mowers made by the old companies are quite valuable to collectors.

Unfortunately, this has caused the market to stagnate to a certain degree. The major companies haven't realized any innovative lawn mowers in a long time. For those looking to get something different from everyone else on the street (and hopefully save a few bucks in the process), purchasing from smaller independent companies with well-engineered products can be a great alternative.

In addition to these mowers, there are many mowing companies that specialize in commercial mowers. Few companies produce both home and commercial mowers, and many commercial mowers are produced by companies that make a wide variety of large farm equipment. Companies that specialize in mowers are less common, but are known for the quality that their focus provides.

In recent years, there has been an increase in competition from companies abroad. Manufacturing labor is cheaper outside of the U.S., and China especially has been producing lawn tools to compete with American companies. This competition is healthy for the market, though, and is sure to keep the price of lawn mowers affordable while ensuring that the best possible products get made.
