Advertise Jobs

by Amy Hall

Certainly the old fashioned way of using the newspaper to advertise jobs is outdated. Practically no job seekers spend all of their time scouring the classified ads in the Sunday newspapers anymore. The majority of job seekers look for jobs online, or they sign up with a recruiting agency to help them with their job search. Looking for jobs in the newspaper is almost like looking for a needle in a haystack, which is why most job seekers look elsewhere.

If you are a company that has positions to fill, you might want to think like a job seeker, which will help you hone in on qualified candidates. Sure, you could post an ad in the newspaper, but the chances are good that you will be getting many calls from job seekers that do not have the credentials you are looking for in a candidate. Not only does this waste your time, but it also wastes your money.

Advertise Jobs Online

If you can find reputable companies to work with that will help you advertise your job positions in a strategic manner, you will likely be able to find ideal candidates much more quickly. In fact, such companies will sometimes even help you come up with a targeted advertisement, and they will also likely alert you to job seekers who possess the skills you are looking for in an employee. Likewise, the job seekers who have signed up with such services are alerted daily about job positions that match their skills.

In addition, some companies use video clips along with photos and resumés to give you a better idea of the person you are considering for a job interview. Web conferencing can be arranged that will allow you to conduct an interview without having to worry about different geographic locations. This is ideal for both employer and potential employee, as both parties can have a virtual face-to-face interview without the expense of travel.
