Buy Stun Guns

by Nicholas Kamuda

Though stun guns are illegal in a half-dozen states, civilians can still buy stun guns in the majority of the states in the union. In those states, stun guns, tasers, and stun batons are considered reasonable force to use in order to resist an attack. At one to four milliamps, most stun guns are not powerful enough to permanently damage a healthy individual.

Stun Guns, Stun Batons, and Tasers

Small stun guns are often hand-held devices that are approximately the same size as a television remote control. They feature open electrodes on one end that will discharge current when activated. Some new models also have other features that increase the value of the stun gun as a personal security device, such as personal alarms and safety switches.

The most effective design for larger units may stun batons. Stun batons are capable of carrying a charge down the entire length of the baton. The charge is genrerally activated by either a trigger or a small switch, which puts the baton in ready mode. These batons are often used in security applications or as non-lethal weapons against violent canines.

Air tazers combine the convenience of projectile weapons and the incapacitating power of stun weapons. Newer tasers can fire two small electrodes through the air that, when they connect with a target, can deliver 50,000 volts of power. Replacement cartridges, which enable a user to quickly reload their taser, are available for some models.
