Computer Equipment
HP ComputersHewlett Packard computers span the gamut of intended users. They produce systems for individual consumers, small and medium-sized businesses, and governments and global corporations. HP spends nearly $4 billion annually on research and development, and produces an average of 11 patents a day. This emphasis on innovation has made them the largest producer of information technology for consumers and for small and medium businesses, and one of the largest for enterprise businesses. The company merged with Compaq in 2002, the largest tech merger in history. Their combined products include a wide range of desktop and laptop computers, tablets and hand-held computers, workstations and servers. They are also number one in printers, scanners, and all-in-one machines. The HP Pavilion and Compaq Presario are the desktop series offered for home and home office use. The Pavilions range in price from approximately $400 to $890, while the Presarios range from $359 to $519. These prices do not include monitors. Pavilion notebooks range from $700 to $1,250, while Compaq's notebooks are $650 to $1,200. Their home site also offers refurbished computers in both desktop and notebook models. HP a Leader in Digital PhotographyFor those who want to use their computers to store, edit and print photos, HP offers cutting edge technology in their higher-end models. A superior printer is necessary to produce excellent photographs, and HP leads the industry in photo-quality printers and all-in-one machines. HP's home site offers a fairly extensive online course for beginning and intermediate photo buffs, which is offered at no charge. ![]() Get all Computer Hardware articles via
