Nursing Education Online
Nursing Continuing Education CreditsNursing continuing education credits are provided by most hospitals and medical universities. Physicians, physician assistants, nurse midwives, and nurse practitioners all require CEUs for state licensure. For this reason, there are thousands of providers available online and locally to obtain the credits. The online courses available for nursing continuing education credits cover every possible area of nursing. Some medical facilities require CEUs even if the state does not require any for license renewal. When the medical facility requires the CEUs, it is usually designated that the subject matter covered must relate to the area of employment. If a nurse is working in the obstetric area, credits for the anesthesia or rehabilitation area would not be considered appropriate. More Nursing Continuing Education CreditsSome online suppliers of nursing continuing education credits offer specials from time to time and that makes it very affordable to obtain the required courses. If your specialty requires some of the courses to be from live seminars instead of written form, many associations offer live recordings of seminars online. This provides the same information in a media that can be accessed at your convenience. A limited number of courses are applicable for any specialty. Most areas of nursing deal with pain in one way or another. Pain management CEUs are required by many licensing bureaus. Other areas that are generally required are in ethics and HIPAA regulations. Before signing up for any course, make sure it is accredited by the appropriate accrediting agency for your state or place of employment. ![]() Get all Medical Education articles via
