Chiropractic Adjusting TablesThere are many varieties of chiropractic tables to choose from, whether your practice is in the market for an activator table, flexion table, elevation table, or a stationary table. Larger, more established practices may want multiple hylo tables with quick tilt times and drops. For today's practice, many high-tech options are available on the market. It all depends on your budget, your patient volume, and how well established your practice may be. The Choices in Adjusting TablesFor geriatric practices, a Hylo table is a good choice--it will stand upright, so the patient can get on or off the table more easily. These tables can have hydraulic or electric tilt drives, and there is also a hylo and elevation model. The elevation adjusting table is made to assist the doctor and the patient. It can be raised to a good height for the doctor, and lowered when the patient is ready to get on or off the table. If appearance is important to you in terms of your adjusting tables, take a moment to see whether a vendor offers customization options. Good vendors will be very clear about the types of materials the chairs are upholstered with and the different colors in which you can order them. Some vendors may be able to accommodate customized requests, so if you want a chair in a color that isn't listed, be sure to ask. Most color choices are relatively extensive, though. If you are looking for a flexion table, you have many choices here also. Flexion tables are available with auto, manual, and auto and manual flexion. Other optional features like a breakaway chest for pregnant or obese patients may play a factor in your choice of tables. Finding the proper table is like buying a car--try as many as you can get your hands on before you make your decision to buy. They all are different and each will have its own personality, as does each doctor and patient who uses the table. ![]() Get all Back Pain articles via
