Woodland Hills Real Estate
San Fernando Valley Real EstateThe San Fernando Valley is mostly composed of communities within the city of Los Angeles. Communities like North Hollywood, Canoga Park, Studio City and Sherman Oaks are all Los Angeles communities that fall in the San Fernando Valley. The San Fernando Valley also is home to incorporated cities like Burbank, Glendale, Hidden Hills and Calabasas. The San Fernando Valley, or simply the Valley to residents, is separated from the Los Angeles Basin by the Santa Monica Mountains. The Valley is also bordered by the Santa Susana Mountains on the northwest, the Verdugo Mountains on the east and the Simi Hills on the west. This arrangement of mountains creates a bowl-like area that is home to people looking for more affordable housing than is available in the Los Angeles Basin. The Valley is ultimately a suburb of Los Angeles, filled with communities intended for people to live in while they work in Hollywood or downtown Los Angeles. It is home to many studios, though, such as Disney, Warner Brothers, Universal Studios and CBS. Newer studios moving into the Valley to set up camp has it rivaling Hollywood for the most studios prize. Finding Real Estate in the ValleyThe Valley is a very unique suburb. Nothing can be taken for granted in this extremely diverse area. In the areas closer to the Santa Monica Mountains, the feel of the neighborhood can vary from street to street. The farther north you travel, the more consistency there is within communities, but those communities can differ greatly from each other. Visiting the area you'd like to move to several times can give you a real feel for the place. ![]() Get all California Real Estate articles via
