Home Entertainment Systems

by Stephanie Dula

Advanced entertainment systems are a high priority for consumers these days, and the home automation market offers many ways to upgrade and streamline them. Homeowners now have plenty of options for tailoring their audio and video systems according to their personal preferences and their living spaces. Many people are now opting for an automation network by which to control all their home systems.

In this day and age where entertainment formats are continuously changing and updating, it may seem overwhelming to find components that can keep up. Digitized audio and video storage cards and disks are now the focus of the entertainment industry. Components are available that are capable of playing digitized music and video from a variety of sources, including the Internet.

Many music fans download their songs directly from the Internet and listen via a PC or MP3 player. There are now numerous ways to send this digitized audio into a home entertainment system for increased convenience and sound quality. These include transmission of data from PC to stereo via radio frequency, dedicated cables, and Ethernet networks.

Automated Entertainment Systems

With a comprehensive in-home automation network, entertainment systems can now play music in multiple zones of the house. With some systems, there is even the possibility to listen to different music in different rooms simultaneously. All components can be programmed and activated by a central remote control or PC.
