Yard Sheds

by Elisabeth Forsythe

Hey, homeowners, look outside! What do you see in your yard? A garden? A pool? Or maybe there's a barbecue out there for those warm summer months? Chances are, if you spend a lot of time in your yard, there are activities involved that include a lot of stuff. Gardening tools, pool toys, and charcoal tend to pile up in the garage or basement. But wouldn't it be much more convenient to have a yard shed, where you can store your outdoor equipment right where you use it the most?

Yard sheds are made from all different materials to fit different needs. Wood sheds are a traditional favorite. They can be designed to match the architecture of your home, and can be painted to match. The drawbacks of a wooden yard shed is that they can be expensive to build and need yearly maintenance. That nice paint job will probably need a touchup every few years.

Many people prefer plastic or vinyl yard sheds. Because they are made of man-made materials, they can be cheaper and don't gradually decompose. Plastic or vinyl sheds are lightweight yet sturdy, and never rot or rust. They are also extremely weather-tight and prevent moisture from leaking in to damage their contents. While some worry that plastic or vinyl sheds can look boring and impersonal, they can actually be molded to fit any design.

Keep Your Tools Close at Hand in a Yard Shed

So go empty out your crowded garage, and keep your outdoor gear close at hand. With your tools and various "toys" kept organized and protected--right where you use them--you may find yourself enjoying them more often. With different types available for all kinds of storage solutions, it's easy to find the shed that will fit your yard.
