Daybed Comforters

by Tara Peris

The best daybed comforters are those that draw guests in and make them feel at home. Inviting fabrics, textures, and pillow arrangements allow guests their very own space, even if it happens to be part of a den or office. Indeed, with the right accommodations, close quarters can go from feeling small and cramped to feeling intimate and inviting.

Few people have the luxury of a separate guest room these days. Shrinking apartment sizes and skyrocketing housing costs make extra space an indulgence few can afford. Creative hosts learn to make due by taking other measures to make visitors feel welcome and at home. Although a good many things help this endeavor, few are as important as a good sleeping space.

Welcome Respite

Daybeds provide an ideal way to accommodate the periodic guest without taking up undue space during times when no one is around. They can be tucked graciously into a corner and used as lounging space and then called to duty as needed. The trick is to look for bedding that promotes this kind of versatility.

Solids and low-key prints typically make for the best daybed bedding fabrics. You want something that merges seamlessly with other aspects of a room's decor and does not attract undue attention. Remember that a bed is not a small piece of furniture and it can overwhelm a room easily. Opt for understated bedding choices and you can never go wrong. A few colorful pillows and shams can always be added later should you crave more pizzazz..
