Florida Holiday AccommodationsMany family magazines recommend finding new ways to celebrate holidays. Every holiday is an opportunity to teach a child about his country, his community, or his family. Plus, when we celebrate a moment in our lives, by honoring it, we create something special, something almost sacred. Breaking out of the box in terms of how we celebrate holidays can open up new vistas--on how we see the world, and each other. When we think of holiday accommodations, most of the time what pops into mind are images of motels, or hotels, B&Bs or private bungalows and cottages. But there's also mobile accommodations to consider, which can transport you anywhere you want to go, in comfort, space, and safety. When considering a Florida vacation, don't overlook all the advantages of independence that a motor home can give your family. For instance, Thanksgiving is a holiday that lately tends to be about stuffing one's face, and then passing out in front of the Detroit Lions game. Thanksgiving is the ultimate American holiday, originally celebrated by people in the wilderness who were grateful to have a feast to share and bread to break. One current trend popular with families is renting an RV for Thanksgiving, going to a State Park in the area, and teaching the kids how to grill a turkey over a campfire. Kids can make little pumpkin pies inside tuna cans over the grill. Instead of passing out in front of the football game, families organize their own by the roaring river. Celebrate Independence in Your Own WayThe Fourth of July is another great holiday spent in an RV. There are many ways to celebrate one's independence; hitting the open road is one of the best. There are wonderful adventures down most every road in the United States, and discovering new communities is, for many, one of the best ways to celebrate the country. ![]() Get all RV articles via
