High Definition LCD TV
Panasonic HDTV Ready LCD Projection TVPanasonic's PT-53X54 unit is currently one of their most popular HDTV ready LCD projection televisions. Advances in LCD projection technology also make this an especially affordable model for its size and quality. The thin design of this 53-inch display unit, in addition to its wheeled frame, allow for maximum compatibility with its surroundings. The PT-53X54 has a 53-inch screen, a 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio, and a variety of preprogrammed color settings geared towards motion pictures, making the set an ideal candidate for a home cinema system. Other features include split screen, or picture-in-picture (PIP) mode. Panasonic HDTV Ready LCD Projection TV FeaturesAn impressive aspect of this model is its auto-convergence feature, which can help you avoid the sometimes frustrating process of adequately adjusting the TVs picture quality. Auto-convergence is capable of reading the incoming image data from all video input sources, and automatically adjusting the settings in order to consistently provide the best quality. There is also a manual override option, which allows you to choose your own settings. Even though the PT-53X54 is lightweight for its screen size, its dimensions would still make it awkward to have to move the set every time an input device, such as a video game console, VCR, or DVD player was to be installed. In order to avoid this problem, Panasonic has updated the traditional input/output jack arrangements. The television features an abundance of audio and video inputs, most of which are easily accessible from the side of the unit, as opposed to the back. The design even contains a built-in tray to hold additional multimedia components. It is important to note that, although this is an HDTV-ready model, it is not instantly equipped to display HDTV signals. Like most HDTV-ready televisions, Panasonic's PT-53X54 can display high definition TV signals, but still requires an HDTV input device in order to display HDTV broadcasts. HDTV input devices can range from cable or satellite connections, to HD tuners, capable of receiving HDTV signals from an antenna. ![]() Get all Televisions articles via
