High Definition LCD TV
JVC LCD TVThe JVC LT-26WX84 is a high definition television with a 26-inch LCD screen. This model comes with several options designed to enhance the home theater experience. This popular television also features such extras as split-screen, picture-in-picture, virtual surround sound, and digital media compatibility. This JVC LCD unit features a widescreen aspect ratio of 16:9, but is also capable of displaying video in a standard 4:3 aspect ratio. Its flat panel display features an illuminated back panel, allowing for maximum visibility regardless of exterior light sources. JVC LCD TV FeaturesUnlike many HDTV-ready units, the LT-26WX84 is equipped to receive high definition broadcasts right out of the box. While many televisions are capable of processing HDTV, they usually require an additional HDTV input source in order to actually display the images. This television has a built in HDTV tuner, allowing it to pick up and display HDTV broadcasts. One of this model’s more popular features is its array of preprogrammed video settings. These settings are intended to provide the best image possible without requiring an extensive knowledge of color, hue, contrast, and brightness settings. The preprogrammed settings are named after various genres of programming, and are designed to bring out the best in each. For example, the “cinema” setting automatically adjusts the controls to provide the deepest, high contrast colors. The “sports” setting adjusts the picture to best accommodate the look of live sports broadcasts, and the “dynamic” mode best supports the look of films with exceptionally intense color schemes, such as Man on Fire, or O Brother, Where Art Thou? The unit also features a similar selection of audio settings. ![]() Get all Televisions articles via
