Slip resistant epoxy paints are very versatile. They can be applied in various thicknesses, depending on the needs of the application. Most often, they will have sand or some other synthetic substitute either suspended in them or broadcast over them between coats. These abrasive substances give the epoxy a rough texture, significantly increasing traction and friction for non-slip floors.

Slip resistant paints have the added benefit of protecting and prolonging the life of the floor over which they are laid. They are easy to apply using simply a roller brush, and usually are very economical per square foot. They certainly are more economical than installing specialized non-slip flooring, and when new floors are not in the budget, they can be the most practical and safest solution.
