Natural Back Pain Relief

by Courtney Salinas

Back pain has become a part of our lives. We work hard and we pay for it with sciatica, Myofascial Pain Syndrome, and chronic pain. All these issues can be caused by over use and improper use of our bodies. Our backs are involved in everything we do and seem to suffer the most for it.

Tips For Relieving Back Pain At Work

Work related back pain isn't just reserved for those who lift heavy objects all day long. Most people who work on computers all day practice inadequate posture and probably have their workspace set up in a way that harms their neck and back muscles. If computer monitors are too low or too high, your neck could suffer. Make sure the top of your monitor is at eye level so you don't have to stoop or crane your neck. The type of chair in which you sit is very important also.

Make sure you have a chair that supports your lower back. This is a feature missing in most chairs and, as a result, it's very common that computer users have lower back problems. Ergonomic chairs can cost a small fortune, making it difficult for many people to justify the purchase. Think about it this way. For eight hours every day you will be in that chair. In the long run, this will have a tremendous impact on the health of your back. The ergonomic chair may be worth the expense after all.

Your keyboard and mouse placement should be especially important when setting up your workspace. Make sure your keyboard is an arm's length away from you. This way you wont strain your wrists and back. Try to keep strain to a minimum by keeping everything you need, like water, the telephone, etc., within easy arm's reach.
