Pagsta Choppa

Pagsta is a company that specializes in the production of custom mini choppers. The company was founded by John Pag, a Southern California chopper designer who created bikes for celebrities like Bo Jackson, Gregg Allman and Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top. In 2003, Pag noticed the oncoming craze for mini motorcycles and began producing his first mini choppers. The Pagsta brand was born.

The Pagsta Choppa

Introduced in February of 2004, the Pagsta Choppa was the second mini chopper model that Pagsta produced. The current Pagsta Choppa has a 97cc engine and is capable of being ridden at speeds up to 55 miles per hour. It features a classic chopper look, with an American-flag gas tank and long handlebars.

In recent years, knock-off versions of the Pagsta Choppa have begun being imported into the United States. Most of these models come from China, and are significantly less expensive than the originals. You do get what you pay for, however, since these bikes are not nearly as well constructed and safe as the originals.

Pagsta points out that the imported bikes in many cases are not street legal. The original Pagsta Choppa actually is street legal (unlike the great majority of mini bikes, in fact). It is certified by the DOT, the EPA and the CARB. It can be registered and insured, and can legally be driven on the street. Pagsta Choppas also come with a full one-year warranty, which you will not find with many of the imported bikes.
