Corporate Awards

by Charles Peacock

If you're a manager or executive at a company, you surely must be aware of the importance of rewarding your employees for a job well done. In order to perform at a high level, most people need some type of recognition or thanks every once in a while. It keeps them happy, which results in a better working environment for everyone.

Using Corporate Awards to Build Morale

Some people might think that awards and plaques are unnecessary (or even a little silly), but even they would probably appreciate being given one for a job well done. The fact is that working in a corporate environment can be a bit dehumanizing, and giving out awards to people who deserve them is one way to get your employee morale back on track. The small amount of time and money you put into getting these awards made will undoubtedly pay off in the long run.

Many companies give out standard awards like an "Employee of the Month" or "Employee of the Year" award. If you want to keep your employees happy, however, it's not a bad idea to be a bit more creative with your award giving. Don't be afraid to give out awards at random times, for a job well done or just to tell someone you appreciate them.

One type of award you should never forget is that employee anniversary award. People who have been with the company for five, 10, or even 15 years deserve recognition for their loyalty. A simple plaque thanking them for their service will go a long way towards keeping them in the fold and encouraging other employees to do the same.
