Wall MirrorsAdding wall mirrors is one of the easiest ways to increase the light in a room and make the room seem larger. In ages past when candlesticks and lanterns were the only source of light during the evenings, they would be placed in line with mirrors so that fewer would be necessary to illuminate the entire room. Even though they are not needed to serve that function today, wall mirrors can still play an important role in interior design. Incorporating Wall Mirrors into Your DesignWall mirrors are available in a number of styles. This allows you the opportunity to find the ideal mirror to match your design scheme. Selecting a mirror is about more than simply size. You may also want to consider the shape of the mirror and the pattern of the frame. Some mirrors, for example, feature an intricate brass scroll trim that may or may not fit in with the design of your room. Mirrors can not only multiply the amount of light in a room, but they can also be used to increase the effectiveness of individual objects. For example, placing a table with a bouquet of flowers in line with a wall mirror will allow you to see the flowers from multiple locations in the room. A similar effect can be accomplished with wall sconces, for both the amount of light and the aesthetic appeal that they bring to the room. You can find wall mirrors enclosed in wooden frames or metallic ones. Some wood frames also feature delicate metal inlays. Silver or gold leaf patterns are among the most beautiful designs available. ![]() Get all Home Decor articles via
