Time Saving Tips

by Charles Peacock

If it seems like the day is never long enough to get everything done that you need to do, you're not alone. Americans are increasingly overworked and over-stressed, and all the electronic organizers and daily planners in the world aren't going to make everything run smoothly all the time. If you're serious about changing things, however, there are a few tiny habits you can teach yourself that might make all the difference.

Time Saving Tips

One of the biggest reasons people feel the time pinch is that their daily lives are too disorganized. Mentally planning your day in advance the night before or even while you're eating breakfast can help you break down what you really need to do and what you can put off for another time. Reducing the number of tasks you complete in a day to those that are completely necessary is a great way to avoid overloading yourself.

When you are trying to get something done, do your best to focus and avoid procrastination. A simple task on the computer, for example, can easily stretch into a whole afternoon if you waste time surfing the Internet and writing unimportant emails. Save time-wasting activities for when you really have time to waste!

We spend a lot of time each day travelling from one place to another, so it's important to make sure you're not wasting time stuck in transit. If you have to drive an hour to work, use that time to make calls or think about what you're going to do that day. Put together tasks that require driving so that you can do them all at once.
