Employee Time Clocks
Digital Time ClocksWhen it comes to time clocks some people prefer analog and others prefer a digital readout. It's just like with wrist watches and clocks in general. Some appreciate the old fashioned appeal of a clock face complete with hands, while other are more appreciative of the exactness of a digital readout. Both styles of time clocks can be equally accurate. While a digital clock face may look more accurate, it doesn't necessarily keep a more accurate time than an analog clock face. When choosing among the two, the decision is essentially one of personal preference and taste. Some argue that digital readouts are easier to read from far away. This may be true with brilliantly colored LCD screen digital readouts, but black and white digital readouts can be very difficult to read if you're standing any distance away from them. The same argument can be used for analog clock faces. Clock hands are very easy to read from far away if the hands are large enough. Thin clock hands can absolutely disappear when viewed from a relatively short distance. Digital or Analog? When deciding on whether or not to use a digital time clock, you might first consider what style of time clock you're looking for. If you and your company are going to opt for a classic style time stamp, then you're probably not going to have much of a selection when it comes to a digital readout. The reverse can be said of a computerized time clock. The majority of computerized time clocks feature a digital readout. ![]() Get all Human Resources articles via
