Well, it just might be here, thanks to the teamwork of two companies from the Netherlands: electronics giant Phillips and Douwe Egberts, the second-largest coffee maker in the world. Together they have created the Senseo Coffee Machine, a revolutionary new coffee maker that makes a perfectly balanced, flavorful cup of coffee in about 30 seconds.

The Senseo Coffee Machine works together with special Senseo coffee pods--individual packets of Douwe Egberts' fine European blends--to brew one or two cups at a time. The 1450-watt boiler heats water to the optimum temperature. Using a special spray head and gentle pressure, this water is filtered through the pod, producing rich, smooth, European-style coffee with a layer of foam topping each cup. Since the Senseo coffee maker only brews individual servings, you always have the very freshest cup of coffee.

How do you like your coffee? Douwe Egberts has chosen several different strengths for the Senseo pods: mild roast, medium roast, dark roast, or a great decaffeinated medium roast. If you crave flavored coffees, try one of the three new flavors: Killarney, an Irish cream and vanilla blend, Vienna, a hazelnut/chocolate flavor, or Paris, redolent of vanilla and caramel.
