Human Resources Management Software
HRISHRIS, or Human Resources Information Systems, provide companies with the tools necessary to ensure that the needs of their employees are met. These include--but are not limited to--benefits administration, training, and payroll. If your company does not have adequate support in these areas, you may be giving employees reason to seek employment elsewhere. HRIS tools make it easier to keep your employees happy and also help you administrate a company of any size. Some Components of HRIS SoftwareMost employees are working to earn a paycheck. If your company is delinquent in providing payment to your employees, they may interpret it as a sign that your company is not healthy, though it might just be that someone missed the deadline to deliver forms to your payroll provider. Rather than run this risk, most HRIS packages include a program that facilitates delivering reports to your payroll provider or sends them automatically to ensure that your employees receive their paychecks as scheduled. Some HRIS packages also provide tools that can be used during the hiring and evaluation process. They provide a central location in which you can store records on all applicants. This can allow supervisors to access different applications easily and leave comments visible to others. This is especially useful when an applicant is meeting with several employees during the course of the day, as each employee can access the application and also submit feedback that can ultimately be used to make a hiring decision. If you are considering purchasing an HRIS package, one feature that you may want to consider is how the software is accessed. If the software can only be accessed from a single computer, it will limit the information that is available to all employees. Many software bundles, however, include a web-based interface so that information can be accessed from any computer on your network. ![]() Get all Human Resources articles via
