Maui Luxury Real Estate

by Sierra Rein

It is not hard to find luxury real estate on the island of Maui. The island is an incredibly popular location for expensive, high-quality housing opportunities. This is true for anyone who is interested in buying, renting, or simply owning a part of a yearly timeshare for a romantic or family vacation.

In order to label a particular piece of real estate a "luxury" commodity, one has to consider a few different characteristics. First, luxury Maui homes and condominiums are typically located in areas near the waterfront, or within view of garden areas. On the other hand, a high quality location might also be considered luxury if it is within walking distance of a recreational center like a golf or yacht club.

Of course, true Maui luxury real estate demands the best in housing facilities and is judged by its size, the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, and style. Because many parts of Maui were bought with private funds, there are a number of houses that were designed and built by professional architects who specialized in style, form, and function. Most luxury homes and condominiums are also designed to compensate for the wide range of weather patterns and humidity on the island; these include air conditioning and windows that protect the inside from the effects of humidity and inclement weather.

Community Maui Luxury Real Estate Spots

Maui is also home to many luxury condominium "villages," or communal residences within a surrounding wall or high fence. Gated entryways ensure that no strangers enter without permission from an invitation from the inside, and full-sized restaurants, pools, gyms, community centers, tennis courts, and other recreational facilities are present for all residents to use. Although some of the housing is considered moderate and simple compared to other luxury accommodations, many would consider the extra amenities and the inclusion of extra safety measures worth the extra money.
