San Diego Home Values

by Krystin Spellman

As the real estate market fluctuates, many homeowners find themselves curious about home much their home is worth. Since the '80s, San Diego and its surrounding communities have experienced a period of rapid grown. Many homeowners who purchased their homes for well under $100,000 are now able to sell their homes for more than four times as much.

Is Now the Time to Sell?

As a result, many homeowners are trying to determine whether they should sell. It is important to note that since home values have been steadily climbing over the past twenty years, that sooner or later, the market will level out as homes simply become to expensive to afford. As the cost of living increases, the market may begin to slow down, and in some extreme cases, diminish.

The dilemma becomes even more complicated when you consider how much you will need to spend in order to purchase a new home after you sell your old one. As a result, many Southern Californians have begun selling their homes and moving up north, allowing them to get much more home for their money. That said, if you have been thinking about selling your San Diego home, now is a good time, but then again, waiting may be better.

If you are unsure about how much your home is worth, consider conducting a simple online search. There are plenty of resources available to help you determine how your house fairs as compared to the rest of the real estate market. There services are generally free, and if the news is good and you decide that now is a time to sell, these companies can help you get in touch with a good real estate agent to get the ball rolling.
