Three Panel Mirrors

by Stacy Chbosky

Three panel mirrors are a great decorating item for people who aren't afraid of a little glamour. If you want your living room or dining room to be strictly cozy and sweet, you'll want to stick to simpler mirrors. For instance, a living room filled with overstuffed couches, pretty florals and friendly chintzes will look better with wall mirrors made of painted wood, burnished leather or traditional silver or gold.

A glamorous living room that isn't afraid to create some drama, on the other hand, will look fabulous with a three panel mirror. Fans of old, black and white movies have probably seen three panel mirrors used effectively in many of their favorite films. A large living room decorated with Art Deco sculptures, 1940s furnishings and modern art will also look fabulous with a three panel mirror. A living room or parlor decorated in an exotic, Far Eastern motif will also look divine with a three panel mirror.

Three Panel Mirrors and Private Rooms

When it comes to the public rooms of the house, three panel mirrors look best in fabulous, dramatic spaces. When it comes to the private rooms of the house, however, three panel mirrors are wonderfully functional. If you're lucky enough to have a dressing room or walk-in closet, you may want to decorate it with a three panel mirror, no matter what the style of the room.

Dressing in front of a three panel mirror is simply the best. You'll know exactly how your outfit looks, top to bottom, and from every angle. Department store dressing rooms often include three panel mirrors, because these mirrors allow shoppers to admire themselves from every possible angle.
