Boys Summer Camps
Massachusetts Summer CampsMassachusetts is a state full of beautiful mountains, stunning beaches and fascinating history. While it may be possible to drive from one end to the other in one half of a day, in between there is much to see and do. For this reason, many people choose to set up summer camps surrounded by the natural beauty of the Berkshires or the Atlantic Ocean. Summer camps in Massachusetts can offer a wonderful variety of outdoor activities, from hiking to biking to rolling around in grassy fields. For camps near the coast, there are great opportunities to swim the salt water, camp on the beach and even go whale watching. The many camp locations and programs throughout the state will delight almost any child. Massachusetts--More Than the OutdoorsWhile the environmental atmosphere of Massachusetts may be the main draw for some, others enjoy the vast amount of American history that took place within the state borders. Many summer camps will offer trips and activities that can help support the lessons which children may be learning during the school year. For instance, camps close to the Boston area can lead trips around the city following the Freedom Trail. Campers can stand on the same cobblestone streets that the founding fathers of the country walked more than 200 years ago or board the USS Constitution and learn about the ways of sailors. Other great historical places in Massachusetts include Salem, where campers can see and learn about the witch trials in the 17th century, and Colonial Deerfield which is a living museum where employees dress and speak as though they were in colonial times. These places are easy day trips from most areas of Massachusetts and are a wonderful way to break the everyday camp routines. ![]() Get all Camps articles via
