Business Speakers
Change SpeakersChange speakers specialize in a ubiquitous category. How does one deal with change effectively? How do you learn to embrace change rather than avoid it? Perhaps most importantly, what do you do when you really, really don't like the change that is happening? Change speakers teach their audience how to deal with a loss of self-confidence and the general disruption that can occur when someone is suddenly faced with change. Change speakers are most effective when they can take a specific situation and give their audience the necessary tools to deal with that situation. For example, some change speakers deal only with corporate change. They are often brought in when a major corporate event is planned that will impact employees. The change speakers then teach these employees how to handle not only the stress, but also the hostility that is often a byproduct of change. By speaking to the specific corporate change and specifically to the people who are most affected, they are in a good position to offer advice, strategies and unbiased observations. Not Just for BusinessChange speakers are also employed for groups or individuals who have experienced a personal change that is affecting their lives. It could be a loss of a loved one, divorce or family issues. Change speakers in this case sometimes act almost as a therapist or personal friend. The only difference is that the speakers are able to offer unbiased advice. They can help people move through the cycles, from initial loss to anger to denial, and finally to learning how to pick up the pieces and move on. Change speakers are different from many other professional speakers in that they are not specific to an industry or certain environment. Change can occur in many different ways, and effective change speakers are well versed in the many types of changes and reactions that people can have to them. It's important for a change speaker to understand that her audience may feel the need to vent their anger, and may even feel hostile towards the change speaker. If the speaker is very good at what she does, she will be able to help the people she is speaking to understand the source of their anger, and even more importantly, how to deal with it. ![]() Get all Speeches articles via
