Incorporate Online

by Kevin Little

Incorporating online is a great way to get a business off the ground in as short a period of time as possible. Many formerly time-consuming tasks relating to incorporation can now be completed online in just a few minutes. Many businesses today are conducted entirely online, so it makes sense that the process of incorporation would follow suit.

Incorporating has always been about filling out forms--forms for state regulations, forms for federal requirements, forms the provenance of which might be entirely alien. These forms once needed to be sent through the mail to applicants and sent back via mail to the appropriate destinations. In the digital age, many of these same forms can now be downloaded from online sites or even completed entirely over the Web.

Incorporating Online: A Sea of Forms

Many state forms are now collected in central online repositories, making it easy for businesspeople to find all needed materials. The Federal Tax Identification Number can also be applied for online or over the phone. Business name searches are likewise furnished by many online sites to expedite the process of finding a corporate name that is not only unique, but "unique enough" when compared to the names of other businesses.

Some of the most useful online resources for businesses attempting to get a handle on incorporation procedures are sites run by registered incorporation agents. These sites can help businesses to find and complete all relevant forms and materials without spending too much time on the process. Professional agents also help businesspeople to prepare applications that are as thorough and accurate as possible.
