Get Ripped

by Kimberly Clark

The term "ripped" is used to describe the definition visible in a bodybuilder's muscles. Other variations on this term include "sliced," "cut," and "cross-straited." In contrast, the term "smooth" is used to describe a bodybuilder who has a bulked-up physique but no clearly defined muscle cuts.

But how exactly does one go about getting ripped? In order to get a cut and chiseled physique, the first thing you need to do is lose as much body fat as possible. The best way to accomplish this is through proper nutrition and the right mix of cardiovascular exercises and weight training.

According to fitness experts, using free weights instead of circuit training machines is the fastest way to get ripped. Because working out with free weights requires balance and coordination, several muscle groups are utilized at once. Obviously the more muscles you work at one time, the quicker you will realize the results you are looking for.

Supplements to Help You Get Ripped

A lot of bodybuilders who are trying to get ripped enlist the assistance of dietary supplements. These products can provide the extra assistance body builders need to speed up their metabolisms. Creatine monohydrate is probably the most popular supplement, but vanadry, synephrine, leucine, hydroxycritic acid (HCA), and alpha-ketoglutarate are also highly recommended.
