Lancer Evolution 8Mitsubishis Lancer Evolution 8 is one of the fastest four door sedans on the road. Just released this year, the Lancer Evolution 8 MR Edition promises to redefine the street-racing scene. Boasting 276 turbocharged horsepower, the Evolution 8 is a smooth driving face melting machine. The introductory Lancer Evolution 8 RS is a highly upgradeable machine, the perfect car for any enthusiast new to motor sports. The new Evolution 8 MR comes equipped with any and every option one could hope for. Either way, the Lancer Evolution 8 is a great option for the motor sport enthusiast. Features of the Lancer Evolution 8The Lancer Evolution 8 is driven by a powerful 4-cylinder inline engine providing 276 horsepower at 6500 RPM and 286 ft-lbs of torque at 3500 RPM. Fuel is delivered to the DOHC 16-Valvetrain by ECI-MULTI electronic fuel injection for precision acceleration. The Evolution 8 is turbocharged by a twin scroll turbine TD05HR-16G6-10.5T turbocharger. This gives the Evolution 8 the power to muscle out the competition. The Evolution 8 RS and VIII models both have 5-speed manual transmissions, but the new Lancer Evolution 8 MR offers a 6-speed manual transmission. All models of the Lancer feature full time AWD with Active Center Differential, front Helical limited slip differential, and a rear mechanical 1.5 limited slip differential. This gives the Evolution 8 a smooth ride regardless of driving conditions. The Lancer Evolution 8 comes standard with MacPherson struts and Bilstein shock absorbers on both the front and rear suspension. The RS and VII models come standard with seventeen-inch Enkei alloy wheels, but the Evolution 8 MR boasts seventeen-inch BBS one-piece forged aluminum wheels. All in all, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8 is a top-end driving machine. ![]() Get all Auto Parts articles via
