VW Performance Parts

by Adam Lee

VW has had a tradition of producing customizable vehicles. From the days of the Baja Bug to today's Cabrio dropped with lowering springs and modified with an adjustable cam gear, Volkswagen has always held its own when it comes to customizing its models. Never before have so many performance parts been made available to Volkswagen drivers of both older and newer models.

Beetle: Yesterday and Today

The classic Beetle is a world icon that will always have its place in world history. These great old cars have never been more upgradeable than today. The Beetle is easily beefed up with large bore intake valves or a sporty short shift kit. Bosch offers a full electrical upgrade in the form of the 009 distributor, alternator, and ignition wire set. The look of the Beetle is also highly modifiable with available ball joints, chrome wheels, and hubcaps.

Of course, the new Beetle is even more upgradeable than the classic Beetle. From dash kits to spoilers, lowering kits to high performance upgrades, the new Beetle can be modified to fit the tastes of any driver. Engine upgrades for the Beetle include supercharging, turbo down pipes, and air intake systems. The interior of a new Beetle can be customized with a number of kits made of anything from teak to carbon fiber.

There are just as many options for any other VW model. Many high performance manufactures provide parts custom made for VW. From Audi to the Jetta, Volkswagen remains on the cutting edge of producing customizable autos.
