Mexico Red Cross

In Mexico, the Red Cross is central to providing emergency medical care. Through diligent fund-raising, public health initiatives, and nationwide blood drives, the program ensures that it is ready to act in crisis situations. In a country such as Mexico, where poverty and political unrest can undermine the availability of quality health care, this mission is more important than ever.

Providing Comprehensive Emergency Services

The Red Cross Society exists around the world, with a goal of providing emergency services and urgent care during crisis situations. From hurricanes and earthquakes to bombings and other man-made disasters, the Red Cross is integral to mobilizing the monetary, medical, and personnel resources necessary to provide help. Although numerous non-profits exist with a similar model, none are as established and effective as the Red Cross; we would be lost without them.

Founded in 1910, the Mexico Red Cross addresses an equally challenging task. In a country grappling with poverty, health care has been one of many industries to suffer considerable setbacks. The Mexico Red Cross is responsible for bringing vital supplies and services to all regions of the country and for preventing the spread of disease following natural disasters such as floods and earthquakes.

Although the Mexico Red Cross is 24,444 strong and growing, it relies heavily on volunteers. Accordingly, medical and nursing students from around the world participate in exchange programs designed to enrich their training while simultaneously lending a helping hand. For those interested in hands-on learning outside of the classroom, few programs can compete with what is offered through Red Cross programs.
