Discount MP3 Players

by Norene Anderson

Discount MP3 players are taking the market in portable listening by storm. Digital audio players (MP3 players) have the technology that is changing the way joggers jog and travelers pass away the time. These electronic devices are small enough to fit into pockets and lightweight enough to go anywhere.

One of the many things to consider when buying an MP3 player is the connectivity. This is the communication between your player and your computer for the purpose of transferring music files. The two basic types are FireWire or USB. Both require the use of a special cable that may or may not be included in your package. Wireless transfer is new to the market and not yet as popular as the two basic types of transfer.

Another thing to consider is the display screen. It is tiny and you must be able to see it clearly in order to adjust the volume, change song selections, or navigate through the other options. Compare the display indoors and outdoors in the sunlight to make sure you can read the characters without difficulty.

Storage is a big consideration. If you need to store thousands of files, you will want to purchase a unit with a hard drive. This type is not good for running on a treadmill or jogging outdoors. It tends to skip unless you have a memory buffer. The flash-based models are more for use on the go. The downside for these is they usually have memory for only a few dozen songs. Additional memory cards can be purchased, but they are a little pricey.
