More than half of business-to-business transactions depend on market data retrieval to ensure cost effective, targeted marketing and advertising. A focus on quality data retrieval is critical to ensuring ROI. Consistently, more than half of these transactions also make use of compiled files.

The Future of Market Data

Data should be filtered or pre-qualified based on specific set of criteria to ensure that marketing is focused on the most interested audience. These compiled lists, however, would not be possible without proper, targeted market data. The demand has increased with their effectiveness. This is largely thanks to improvements in data harvesting technology.

It will be these kinds of areas of specialization (marketing, consumer tracking, etc.)that are likely to initially benefit from the research into quantum computing technologies. This is because the new breed of applications provides more complex, faster search capabilities.

Not only is it likely that the quality will continue to improve, it is also likely that the cost of implementing this technology will be reduced. That is because market data gathering is typically outsourced. As the results of using the technology increase, so will the demand for such services.
