Stock Trading Tips

by Erin Jones

Living in an age of internet blogging can make it difficult for investors to find quality stock trading tips. In today's web-connected world, any Tom, Harry, or Sam can give stock tips. While the Internet has made it easier for individuals to find the information they're looking for, it has also made it harder to decipher the true source of the information you are receiving.

Finding the Best Stock Trading Tips

Luckily, there are plenty of options for individuals who are adverse to paying a stockbroker enormous amounts of commission fees every year. One of the best alternatives to broker-assisted advice is independent research by former financial advisors. Many financial brokers begin publishing their own newsletters after they retire from the daily grind. These newsletters are great, cost-effective alternatives to expensive investment advice.

If your investment advice does stem from a newsletter, make sure you research the background of the informational source. You'll want to make sure that your new investment advisor has the proper licenses and certifications before signing up. If the advisor has a CFA, Certified Financial Advisor, designation, or has several years of broker experience, you should be okay.

Be wary in your search--not all investment newsletters are written by industry professionals. Some newsletters are written by experts in their own fields, not the financial field. For example, many doctors retire and turn to writing investment advice about medical stocks. Before you take stock advice, make sure you're getting advice from a true financial professional.
