Subaru Baja Accessories

by Andrew Kozlov

The 2005 Subaru Baja is a four-door pickup that comes with a surprising array of bells and whistles, including five-speed manual transmission, overdrive protection, antilock breaks, power windows and locks, and more. There are two types of Subaru Baja vehicles available--the Turbo and the Sport. Both provide exciting and cost-efficient rides.

The 2005 Subaru Baja Sport burns fuel at a slightly faster rate than the Turbo does. The Subaru Sport gets 21 mpg in the city as opposed to the Turbo, which gets 19 mpg. Either way, you're looking at extremely high fuel efficiency for a pickup. The Turbo also wins in terms of horsepower--it provides 210 horsepower as opposed to the Sport, which only supplies 165 horsepower.

Looking at Baja Subaru Accessories

What other features come standard on Subaru Bajas? You get a 2.5 liter engine, air conditioning, four-wheel-drive, and a combination sunroof, moonroof. All that said, you can upgrade to premium Subaru STI components to get an even smoother ride from your Baja. The key is knowing which components to accessorize with so as to minimize costs and maximize fuel efficiency and power.

For instance, to get the peak performance that the Turbo delivers, you can upgrade your Sport Baja by accessorizing with STI engine components. STI turbochargers themselves shouldn't cost you more than $500. Thus, it may be a smarter financial move to buy the Baja Sport and upgrade to a turbocharger than to buy the turbocharged Subaru Baja straight out.
