Subaru Legacy Aftermarket Parts

by Andrew Kozlov

The newer versions of Subaru Legacy--particularly the 2005 Legacy models 2.5i and 2.5--have generated significant buzz among motor enthusiasts. While drivers have long considered the Subaru Legacy to be one of the nicer midsize sedans for its class, the 2005 models demonstrate a new kind of technical finesse. Not only do the new Legacies deliver classic Subaru all weather handling and smoothness, but they now pack a significant punch as well.

If you own an older version of the Legacy, you may wish to upgrade to take advantage of your 200 plus horsepower engine. One way to do this is to install a powerful exhaust system, so as to liberate your engine from compression constraints and thereby optimize airflow through your engine. A Prodrive exhaust system is a good choice here, in that it weathers well.

Investigating Subaru Legacy Aftermarket Parts

The newer versions of the Subaru Legacy have a wider track and a more rigid chassis. While you can't buy parts to refine your chassis, you can restyle your interior, tune up your breaks, and stabilize your suspension. It's particularly important to bring your suspension up to grade if you plan to drive your Legacy under heavy-duty conditions.

The Legacy has a well earned reputation for handling smoothly in wet and inclement weather, but you may want to upgrade to better windshield wipers. The standard Subaru Legacy wipers tend to degrade in heavy use. You may also wish to supplement the power of your ABS system by investing in quality perforated pedals to dissipate heat during sudden emergency stops.
