Subaru Parts
Subaru UpgradesWhile Subarus aren't particularly flashy cars, owners and aficionados recognize that a sporty interior beats at the heart of every Subaru model. However, if you're driving on factory standard parts, you may need a boost to unleash the beast within. That's why many Subaru owners upgrade to Subaru STI parts--performance components which empower you to optimize engine power and reduce emissions. Subaru now markets some models--like the WRX, the Legacy, and the WRX Impreza--that come with built in STI upgrades. That said, even these top of the line factory models don't have all the bells and whistles. So which upgrades should you get for your driving style? Upgrading to State of the Art Subaru PartsIf you're an off roader, you may want to adjust the springs on your struts. Simply by lowering the body of your vehicle a few centimeters, you should be able to cut turns more effectively and reduce torsion wear on your wheels. You may also want to explore advanced STI brakes, such as the Bobcat Carbotech brakes, which work exceptionally well under high-temperature and pressure circumstances. If you're more into racing, you could upgrade to the Subaru Active Valve Control System. This engine system electronically regulates how and when you intake and outtake processed airflow. The end result of this more meticulous and nuanced engine operation is that you get more power and produce fewer emissions. Some high end Subaru models come standard with AVCS. ![]() Get all Auto Parts articles via
