English Training In Canada

by Felipe Gomez

I tell students in my courses they will never find a better opportunity to really master a language than living where that language is spoken. Learning a language is much more than learning the grammar, vocabulary, and spelling rules. A great part of it is taking part in the culture in which the language has grown and developed.

Traveling to Canada and Living There

Canada offers its visitors the possibility of staying in the country for six months without a special visa. In case you want to stay for a longer period, or even examine the chances of entering a Canadian university or the Canadian workforce, legal procedures make it easy for students to obtain all due documentation. This is possible, in part, because of the support that universities and institutions offer their potential students.

Living in Canada for a period of months or years will certainly be a great opportunity for any learner of English. Having to read the newspaper, buy a cup of coffee, or ask for directions in English are some of the daily challenges you will have to deal with for the simple reason of being there. When studying English at a language institute or a university, these daily interactions provide you with the necessary practice of the material learned inside the classroom.

Canada is a huge country, and opportunities to learn English or improve your fluency are abundant. Most of the language schools are located in major cities like Toronto or Vancouver, but you might choose instead to study in a smaller city like Halifax. Whatever your choice, you are likely to accomplish your goal of taking your knowledge of English to a promising level.
