TOEFL Exam Preparation
TOEIC VancouverThe Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) is the standard test used to measure the ability of ESL and EFL speakers to use English in daily work environments. It is administered by the English Testing Service, and you are likely to find it offered in most countries. More than 3 million people take this test every year throughout the world. The TOEIC is used by corporations, government agencies, English training programs and schools to measure the level of English of their applicants. Even though speaking and writing is not measured by the test, studies have shown a link between TOEIC results and oral proficiency and writing skills. Preparing for the TOEIC in VancouverThe TOEIC is a multiple-choice test consisting of a Listening and a Reading section. Each of these sections has 100 questions, but the former should be completed in 45 minutes, while for the latter you are allowed 75 minutes. In the listening section you are asked to answer questions based on cues provided by photographs, short conversations, or short talks. In the reading section you will have to answer questions based on the content of a variety of texts. These questions can address comprehension, error recognition, or the completing of sentences with appropriate information. As with any test, mastering this one requires preparation and practice. Practice tests featuring questions from previous versions of the TOEIC are available on the Internet and in book format. However, it is always recommended when possible to attend a TOEIC preparation course at an English school or institute. Preparing for the TOEIC in Vancouver will allow you not only to benefit from the experience of doing so with peers, but will also offer you the chance to have experienced teachers address your questions and concerns to ensure a more thorough and effective preparation. ![]() Get all Languages articles via
