The Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) is the standard test used to measure the ability of ESL and EFL speakers to use English in daily work environments. The TOEIC is a multiple-choice test consisting of a Listening and a Reading section. In the listening section you are asked to answer questions based on cues provided by photographs, short conversations, or short talks. In the reading section you will have to answer questions based on the content of a variety of texts. These questions can address comprehension, error recognition, or the completing of sentences with appropriate information.

As with any test, mastering this one requires preparation and practice. Practice tests featuring questions from previous versions of the TOEIC are available on the Internet and in book format. However, it is always recommended when possible to attend a TOEIC preparation course at an English school or institute.
