TOEIC Toronto

by Felipe Gomez

TOEIC stands for Test of English for International Communication. Its ultimate goal is to measure the degree to which someone is able to use English in daily work situations. The test itself assesses only the listening and reading skills of the individual, though this will tell potential employers a lot about the applicant's oral proficiency and writing skills.

Preparing for the TOEIC in Toronto

Even though the TOEIC is not a test you can "pass" or "fail," many companies have set their own standards. This means they will require a certain minimum score corresponding to the level of English an individual will need to perform the job effectively. The same is true for some language schools which use the test for placement or to evaluate students' progress.

Obtaining a high grade on the TOEIC requires adequate preparation. As with every test, this will mean more than just raising your knowledge of English to the desired level. You should also try to familiarize yourself as much as possible with the structure of the exam and the kinds of questions that are likely to be asked.

The other half of it is keeping your motivation through the whole process. You might be someone who's determined enough to do so all by yourself. However, better than one determined person is a group of determined people. The best way to learn is with a group of people looking to achieve the same high score you desire. And with the guidance of an experienced teacher who can show you through all the loops, what else could you ask for?
